Olympia Theatre, Paris, France (5/3/72)

Experience another unforgettable performance from the 1972 Europe tour, this time at the Olympia Theater in Paris. The show starts strong with an energetic Bertha, and only gets better. The Mr. Charlie that follows is bursting with excitement, while the Sugaree may be short, it is full of emotion and features excellent guitar work and powerful basslines from Phil. The China>Rider, He's Gone, and Playin' are all top-notch as well. Some may criticize the Good Lovin', but to us it sounds amazing with its quick, dynamic jam that leads back to Pigpen's brilliant performance, supported by Jerry's slow build on guitar. It may not be the typical Good Lovin' of the early '70s, but that's what makes it exceptional.
