In an anticipated fusion of turntablism and acid jazz, DJ Krush and Ronnie Jordan deliver a compilation of Krush's remixes with occasional departures from the smooth jazz realm. While the album does not fit the typical smooth jazz mold, it falls victim to the formulaic blend of beats and relaxed jazz instrumentals or soulful vocals (in a style eerily similar to smooth jazz). While not all acid jazz conforms to this pattern, many succumb to its allure. Unfortunately, Bad Brothers follows suit. The saving grace lies in Krush's signature minimalist hip-hop trip, which may prove too intense for fans of Earl Klugh.
