Description
Noisy Melbourne dreamscapers Parading make their Lost And Lonesome debut with the 7" single 'Butterfly' b/w 'All in Good Time'.
Overflowing with gorgeous guitar racket and soporific vocals, 'Butterfly' is the first taste of Parading's second album, slated for a late-2016 release.
The quartet comprising members of Witch Hats, White Woods, Pageants and Melbourne Cans follow up on their 2013 album Swallowing a Sunflower which fell happily under the influence of Slowdive, C-86 and the Slumberland Records catalogue.
Recorded with producer Richard Andrew (Underground Lovers), the new single displays all the noise-encrusted melody and slacker virtue that have seen Parading elevated to heroes among Australia’s bountiful dream pop scene.
Amidst its guitar clamour and an undulating rhythm section, 'Butterfly' opens up into a gorgeous melody while singer/songwriter Tom Barry contemplates the life of a troubled friend as it turns into something real and inspirational.
With backing harmonies dripping with honey from Alana West (Hideous Towns) and lead guitarist Keith Mason conducting his own version of a feedback orchestra, the song finds its space within the dark and the beautiful.
