Description
After two desert-parched, reverb-caked garage rock albums, the Allah-Las are back with more minor-key jangle and relaxed balladry on their third record, Calico Review. While their sound may seem repetitive, the band's sneaky hooks and locked-down sound make this album just as strong as their first two. They blend lost '60s singles, punk, nightclub grooves, nocturnal vibes, folk-rock, and melancholy to create a heady atmosphere.
