Description
In West Africa, Japanese musician Junichiro "John" Imaeda was inspired by the similarities between Afrobeat and "Ohayashi" music. Upon returning to Japan, Imaeda founded the unique collective Ajate, creating music that blends different cultural roots using handmade bamboo instruments. With powerful vocals and a distinct fusion of Afrobeat and Ohayashi, Ajate has gained recognition worldwide. Their latest album "Dala Toni" continues to showcase their ability to merge sounds and cultures.
