Michiru Ōshima (Godzilla vs Megaguirus, Star Wars: Visions) composed the music for 2002's Godzilla Against Mechagodzilla, expertly utilizing the Moscow Symphony Orchestra to create an impressive and heroic musical backdrop for the film. The score captures the immense power of the kaiju, particularly in the menacing theme for Godzilla that utilizes low registers. In contrast, the theme for Kiryu employs high brass to convey a sense of a superhero, creating a beautiful counterpoint between the two titan's themes during their epic clash. Michiru Ōshima's score for Godzilla Against Mechagodzilla is a noteworthy and impactful addition to the revered soundtracks of Toho.
