Truly fantastic 1966 Japanese surf album. Takeshi Terauchi, along with His Blue Jeans, demonstrate here traditional Japanese melodies, most of which are hundreds of years old, in a tight rock band setting. Led by a true guitar-master, they are sometimes augmented by a few well-placed traditional Japanese instruments.

"Eleki" was the nickname given to electric guitar music in the mid-1960s, made most famous there by the Ventures and adopted to great effect by musicians like these. The cover art perfectly represents the music inside: a masterful melding of old & new, East & West, tradition & innovation.
