In the early 1950s, vibraphonist Red Norvo led a highly regarded trio with guitarist Tal Farlow and bassist Charles Mingus. They recorded a total of 20 tracks for Savoy Records, with 17 featured on this release. While it would have been nice to include all 20 songs, this selection still offers a good representation of their skilled musicianship. The group's chemistry is especially impressive on standout tracks like "Move," "I'll Remember April," "Zing Went the Strings of My Heart," and "Swedish Pastry."
