In addition to El Michels Affair's first Wu-centric album in 2009, bandleader Leon Michels has been busy with his other projects like Menahan Street Band, Expressions, and collaborations with Aloe Blacc, Chicano Batman, and others. He also co-founded the label Big Crown and produced Lady Wray's Queen Alone. The highly-anticipated sequel to EMA's 2009 LP is titled Return to the 37th Chamber and delves deeper into the inspiration of RZA, the Hi and Stax labels, and the soul and reggae sessions of Memphis, Detroit, and Kingston. The commitment and creativity of Michels and his team are evident in tracks like "Shaolin Brew," which pays homage to Wu-Tang's iconic malt liquor ad.
