Description
Mustaine returns with a new lineup, including ex-Cacophony guitarist Marty Friedman and drummer Nick Menza. This results in Megadeth's strongest musical effort, with complex and technically challenging thrash suites played with impeccable skill by Mustaine and Friedman. Despite Mustaine's focus on music over lyrics, Rust in Peace is still impressive and arguably the best Megadeth release, even for listeners who have outgrown heavy metal. The consistent highlight of the album is the epic, Eastern-inspired "Hangar 18".
