George Otsuka, a well-regarded jazz drummer from Japan, sadly passed away in March of 2020. He released his first record as part of a quintet on the Union label in 1971, following three previous records with the George Otsuka Trio. This superb album showcases the impressive talent of the band, including the standout tracks "Sea Breeze" and a captivating cover of "Fool on the Hill."
