Description
In the Felbm project, Dutch multi-instrumentalist Eelco Topper steps away from his previous synthesiser-laden sounds as Falco Benz, towards a much looser, simpler and sketch-like approach. Together with a number of acoustic instruments, he began experimenting with a Tascam 4-track tape recorder and allowed these sketches to flourish.
This project consists of 15 tracks that combine piano, jazz, rumba rhythms, and ambient sounds. The jazz influence is rooted in Topper's childhood, where he played drums and then switched to piano at age 16. He furthered his studies in jazz piano at the Utrecht Conservatory, but ultimately his interest lies in electronic and contemporary music.
