Harrison's 3LP benefit at MSG set a precedent for later rock & roll benefits. Loads of rock luminaries joined Harrison, including ex-Beatles. Shankar, Ali Akbar Khan, & Rakha created masterful "Bangla Dhun". Dylan's surprise appearance was key -- he performed five of his most meaningful '60s songs. Controversy continued when the record was issued. Klein set a no-discount policy & questions arose about the intended recipients of the proceeds. Capitol LP & Columbia tapes were part of the deal for Dylan's participation. Despite the avarice, the concert's magnanimous intentions showed that rock musicians wanted to help the world.
