An album loaded with deep, introspective tracks, Mick Jenkins lets his thoughts be heard in his critically acclaimed mixtape, The Water[s]. Rapping in a similar popularity as fellow Chicagoans Chance the Rapper and Vic Mensa, Jenkins offers a look into his style of rap, backed by heavy yet laid back beats, incredible samples, and amazing features from Joey Bada$$ and Noname Gypsy (among others). Additionally, Jenkins lets this project's title do the introduction, while the tracks explain what he thinks. In some tracks, Jenkins is laid back and relaxed ("Vibe", "The Waters"), while in other tracks, he's Bryson Tiller-like in 'trap' music ("Who Else", "Jerome"). He's unpredictable in each track....like the ocean. Hence, The Water[s].
