Busta Rhymes' When Disaster Strikes is a sprawling, often brilliant mess, confirming his status as one of hip-hop's greatest. It careens between genius and indulgence, and Rhymes is usually on - his caffeinated flow, paired with his pre-millennium party persona, is huge. Two big singles, "Dangerous" and "Put Your Hands Where My Eyes Could See" are superb, with moments almost as inspired. The album's second half slows a bit, but it doesn't prevent When Disaster Strikes from being Busta's definitive original album.
