Arabic / Middle Eastern

The Middle East is home to diverse musical traditions amongst Arabic-speaking countries, including  the Iranian traditions of Persia, Jewish music from Israel and the diaspora, Armenian music, Azerbaijani music, Cypriot music, Turkish music, Assyrian music, and Coptic music in Egypt. Middle Eastern music has also influenced regions like Central Asia, the Balkans, and Spain. Cairo, Egypt, has long been a key center for modern Arabic music, while other countries like Morocco and Saudi Arabia have also contributed to popular music. Recently, Beirut has become an important hub for Arabic singers who perform in various dialects.
